Addie Mae Hayes was born to Robert and Ethel [Reynolds] Hayes on January 27, 1943 in IXL, Oklahoma. She was the  third of six children in the family.  Addie received her education in Anderson Chapel and Boley School systems.

"Mae," as she was affectionately referred to, united in Holy Matrimony to Clarence J. "C.J." Turner, Sr.,  and they were blessed with three children.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill AME Church in IXL, Oklahoma and later moved her membership to Ward Chapel AME Church in Boley, Oklahoma, where she remained a faithful member until her health began to fail.

Mae loved singing, cooking, and her family, the Hayes sisters sang as a group in the Boley and surrounding area for many years.  Her smile was an expression of love.  Mae will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.

On Tuesday evening, November 19, 2019, the Lord God almighty called our dear loved one to her eternal home in the sky.  She leaves to cherish her memories;  a son, C. J. Turner, Jr., Shawnee, Oklahoma;  two daughters, Ethel Turner, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Dana Turner, Boley, Oklahoma;  a brother, Leo and Naomi Hayes, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;  two sisters, Betty and Carl Kemp, and Doris Becall, all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;  nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
