"Life's Championship"
The Tip-off came at 8:36 AM on Feb. 8, 1989, when Bodie and Larzetta Lang celebrated the birth of their 4th child, a baby boy they named Adrain Kody Lang. The First Half of the game began by everyone calling the Star Player "Kody." He began his education in the Boynton-Moton Public Schools and along with his education, came the training and education he received from his big brother, cousins and neighbors on the practice court in basketball. Kody proudly wore #10 for the Cardinals and led the team as Captain. He had aspiration of becoming a professional basketball player. The important part of his game flourished through his faith in God. Kody was a member of the Neighborhood House of Prayer, under the Pastoral leadership of Mother Lucille Lang, where he served the Lord singing with the youth choir.
Half-time came, where Kody participated in area rodeos as a member of the B-Town Riders, competing in the Pony Express. His smile and politeness was the reason he made many friends. He worked along with his father and borthers in the horse breaking business and possessed a unique gift in training the most difficult horses. He also had a love for music, wrote songs and had begun working on a CD with his cousin, Patrick.
The last half of the game came with his team down by one game, but on their way to victory in the second. A crucial rebound came, and "Smoke," as he was referred to by his teammates, grabbed the rebound. That "rebound" as it turned out, was the key to "Victory." That "rebound" helped seal the "Victory," not only for the team, but for Kody as well. Kody's dream of playing professional basketball became a reality, as he earned "A Victory, for Jesus." He was drafted by the "Angels" and his new coach, owner and manager, "Jesus Christ" now has the rights to Adrain Kody Lang, where he plays in Heaven, with the "Angels."
Kody leaves in God's care; his loving parents, Bodie and Larzetta Lang; 3 sisters; 5 brothers; his grandparents, Archie and Lucille Lang, Boynton, OK and Elsworth and Carrie Mae Lewis, Grayson, OK; 6 nephews; 3 nieces; and a caravan of other relatives and friends.
