With deep dimples and a beautiful smile on July 9, 1953 in Muskogee, Oklahoma a son was born to Alex and Irene Evitt and they lovingly named him Alex Evitt, Jr., better known as "Bumus" to family and friends.
Alex grew up at 1121 N. 3rd Street and attended Dunbar Elementary School, Sadler Jr. High, and Manual Training High School, graduating from Muskogee High School in the class of 1971.
At the age of 8 Alex made a decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He united with Antioch Baptist Church and was baptized under the pastoral leadership of Rev. B. W. Noble. Thanks be to God and a wonderful person by the name of Mrs. Claudia Ewell who held "Starlight Band" in her home as a Member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. B.W. Noble, introducing children and families in the community to the Lord and bringing them to Christ, and Alex was one of those children.
Alex married Jean Wallace his high school sweet heart, and to this union 4 beautiful daughters were born: Trina, Adeline, Chrystal, and Shalonta. The marriage was later dissolved.
He enlisted in the United States Marines in September of 1975 and was stationed in San Diego, California. He received an Honorable Discharge and returned to Muskogee. Later enrolled in Bacon College and received his Associate Degree and went on to enroll in Northeastern State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Business Administration.
His work history included Noblin's Wholesale downtown Muskogee, 1970 Census Bureau, after graduating from NSU he moved to Oklahoma City and worked as an Auditor for the Oklahoma State Cooperation Commissioners Office, VA Medical Center in Muskogee as a Filing Clerk, LVI Company removing Asb
His children meant the world to him, and he had a special love for each one of them. He loved and enjoyed being with family and friends, and as he got older, he preferred to be alone at home, he didn't like being around big crowds of people, so he communicated with family, friends, classmates, and others using his mobile phone and Facebook Page, etc.
After moving to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma he met and married Kathy Nero February 21, 1992, and they were blessed with a son whom they named Alex Evitt lll., and he is called Trey. He also joined and became a member of New Dimensions Ministries, Bishop Randal House, Pastor.
On October 24, 2021 at 10:25 a.m. after a brief illness at the VA Medical Center Alex quietly slipped away with family at his bedside. He will truly be missed. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
Preceding him in death are his parents Alex and Irene, paternal and maternal grandparents, one daughter, Adeline Elaine, 3 sisters Creadell, Velma Jo, and Annie Mae, 5 brothers Oliver, Andrew Leon, Sherman, BillyJames, and Charles Ellis, ten Uncles, 4 aunts, Adeline Louise, Alice, Beulah, and Aunt Cecil, and eight other siblings.

His special and longtime friends were Willie Taylor and the Taylor family, Henry Duncan, and a special cousin Marcus Roland. Long time family friend John Knight.
The Sacred Farewell for Mr. Evitt will commence on Friday Afternoon, November 5, 2021 at 12:00 PM in the People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. Burial will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson.
