Obituary

Mr. Alfred Jones peacefully transitioned to Eternal Rest on April 10, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On July 6, 1942, the Lord blessed the loving union of McCoy and Jewel [Lamar] Jones with a baby boy. They named him Alfredora Jones, lovingly known as Alfred or "Little Baby."

Alfred attended Douglass Elementary and Sadler Jr. High School. He graduated from Manual Training High School with the Class of 1961 and also became an honorary member of the Booker T. Washington Class of 1961 in Tulsa. He was an honor student, excelled as a Barber and was an outstanding running back and defensive back for the Manual Training Bulldogs. He also was a member of the basketball and track teams.

Reaching adulthood, Alfred joined in Holy wedlock with Roberta Mae Green and this union was blessed with 3 children; Derrell, Detria and Derika.

Alfred loved to hunt, fish and ride his beloved Harley Davidson sportster. Early in life, he became a member of the Masons. Alfred coached many youth football teams, beginning with his son Derrell's Jr. High team, the Thunderbirds. Alfred served his community in several organizations, volunteering his time and energy selflessly.

Those who went home before him; his father, McCoy, his mother, Jewel, his brothers, Otis and McCoy Jr., and his granddaughter, Bianca.

The family he leaves behind to mourn his home-going; his son, Derrell Jones and wife, Donna, Muskogee, Oklahoma, his daughter, Detria [Cisco], Muskogee, Oklahoma, his daughter, Derrika, Tulsa, Oklahoma and son, Aaron Jones, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his granddaughter, Melonie Jones, Tulsa, Oklahoma, his grandson, Rydell Jones [Sabrina], Muskogee, Oklahoma and his grandson, Deven Jones, Muskogee, Oklahoma; his great-grandchildren, Khaleal, Kassidy, Kira, Kallie and Kaidin; special nieces and nephews, Janet Warrior-Tezino, Otis Warrior, Jr., Lisa Warrior, Jackie Warrior, Temprest Warrior, Houston, Texas, Armelia Jones-Posey, Wichita, Kansas, MCCoy Jones, III, Muskogee, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and frie3nds who will miss him dearly.

Service of Memory for Mr. Jones will be on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the Antioch Baptist Church. Dr. Marlon J. Coleman will Officiate. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
