Obituary

A beautiful, chubby baby girl, with sandy red hair, was born to the loving union of Samuel and Lessie [Ball[ Baldridge on December 1, 1939 in Braggs, Oklahoma. They were proud because she was a big bundle of joy, the fifth child in the family. She was named Alma Jean, after her mother's friends daughter.

Her education began at Howard Chapel Elementary School in Braggs, Oklahoma. Jean and her sisters walked six miles to school and six miles back home everyday. Her education continued at Sadler Junior High School and Manual Training High School, culminating at Bacone College.

Jean professed a hope in Christ at an early age. After moving to Muskogee from Braggs, the family united with the Canaan Baptist Church, later joining Macedonia Baptist Church making their home there. Sister Jean served the Lord in many areas of the Church, including teacher, bible study, usher and many other capacities.

In 1971, she married her loving husband, Lloyd Moss, Jr. This union was further enriched with the birth of their two loving children, Leslie and Lloyd Eugene Moss, III. Jean was a devoted wife, mother, aunt and a superior grandmother to her grandsons. She loved sports - especially football and basketball. She helped her grandsons sell many tickets. Sister Moss was affectionately referred to as "Granny". This was the name given to her by her youngest grandchild, Hawkey.

She was a faithful and devoted member of Macedonia until her health began to fail. She truly enjoyed bible study led by Reverend Smith.

Quietly on Sunday evening, August 19, 2012, while a patient at Muskogee Regional Medical Center, Jean was peacefully resting, dozed into eternity. The Lord took her home so she would suffer no more. She was greeted at Heaven's Gate by her parents, a niece and three nephews who went on before her.

Her loved ones she leaves in God's care; her devoted husband, Lloyd Moss, Sr.; a daughter, Leslie Nicole Baldridge Moss; a son, Lloyd Eugene Moss III[Dawn]; two sisters, Leola Hughes, Muskogee and Wheatie Perkins, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Trayvon, Jaylan, Darryan, Hawkey; Pat [sister-in-law], Lisa, Mickey, Kim Ball, Sue [Herman], and many other relatives and dear friends who were all very special to her.

The Sacred Farewell will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Macedonia Baptist Church. Reverend Larry H. Smith, Sr., Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Citizens Cemetery at Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

You may visit Mrs. Moss, as she slumbers at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 PM until 4 PM.
