On May 22, 1964, Alphonzo Walton Borens was born to L.D. and Lillian Jo (Walton) Borens in Clarksville, Oklahoma. He attended school at Carter G. Woodson in Tallahassee, Oklahoma from kindergarten to the 5th grade, along with his family. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1975 where he attended Ellis Walker Woods in the 6th grade. His middle school years were spent at Cleveland Jr. High in Tulsa. The family returned to Tallahassee, where he graduated from Carter G. Woodson in 1982. After graduating, he got his first job at Howard Johnson on the Muskogee Turnpike. After one year of service, he decided he wanted to attend Okmulgee Tech and become a drafting designer. He attended there for one year and joined the Army. "Al" served in the Army National Guard as a Scout Infantryman. In between drills and after three years of service, he worked at Red Lobster for many years. Al was a very intelligent young man. The company used him to train other employees in Oklahoma and Kansas.
Following a short stay in the Hillcrest Hospital, on October 22, 2013 Alphonzo made his transition from earth to eternity. Alphonzo Walter Borens was preceded in death by parents, L.D. and Lillian Jo Borens and one sister, Norma Gean Walker. He leaves to cherish his memories ten brothers: Clarence Borens (Phyllis) Tulsa, OK., Raymond Borens, Redbird, OK., Benjamin Borens, Sr. (Thermaple), Tulsa, OK., Ervin Borens (Pamela), Philadelphia, PA., Leonard Borens (Loretta), Tulsa, OK., Carl Borens (Darlene), Wagoner, OK., Michael Borens (Peggy), John Borens (Juanita), Keith Borens (Carla), William Borens (Qwenda), all of Tulsa, OK., three sisters: Dee Anna Taylor (Bishop James), Philadelphia, PA., Katherine Parker (Robert) Muskogee, OK., Ellen Borens, Tulsa, OK. He also leaves to cherish his memories two aunts on his mother's side, Bernice Motley, and Rosa Mae Thomas, both of Tulsa, OK., and two uncles on his mother side, Harold Walton, Jr. and Clarence Walton, both of Omaha, NE., and a great host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Services for Mr. Borens will be Thursday October 31, 2013 at 11AM at Lifeline Outreach Ministires in Tulsa.
Friends may visit Mr. Borens on Wednesday from 12Noon until 7PM in Tulsa.
