On October 28, 1922, a little girl was born, in Atoka, Oklahoma to Mullie Sr. and Earnestine Jones. They named her Alto Charlotte Jones. She met and married the love of her life, Lonnie Rowland and they became a happy and loving blended family unit for more than 45 years. She joined Loving Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at a very young age under the late Rev. Dr. J. A. Reed. She was fellowshipped into Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. Dr. B. W. Noble. Alto, later in life, moved her membership to Macedonia Baptist Church, under Pastor Larry H. Smith where her children are members. Alto continued her education and received her Bachelor's and double Master Degrees in Reading and English. She taught Elementary and Middle School in Porter Oklahoma for 21 years. She was a devoted and loving mother but she also helped numerous children and others to achieve their highest potential. She was loved, respected and adored by her family and friends. She will truly be missed.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Lonnie Rowland, her parents, Mullie Sr. and Earnestine Jones. A sister, Linnie Jefferson, three brothers Mccoy, Velmus and Mullie Jr. One stepdaughter, Jestyne Rowland King.
Left to cherish her memories are her devoted daughter, Lonelia Simmons, sons Pete Rowland, Doyle (Carsetta) Rowland all of Muskogee. Stepdaughter, Ida Eubanks, Wichita, Ks. A niece, who was like her daughter, Carolyn (Jerry) Goodmon, Wichita, Ks. One granddaughter, who was also like a daughter, Trayce Pouncil, Muskogee. One sister, Ruth Moore, Inglewood, CA along with 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
