Mr. Amos Dixon in his 82nd Season, Peacefully raveled from Labour to Refreshment on Saturday March 25, 2017 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
On May 25, 1934, a son was born to Mattie and Ernest Dixon. He was the youngest of three boys. Amos attended school in Okmulgee. Later in life, he met and married Norma Louise Brown and from this union, they were blessed with four children.
Mr. Dixon was a construction worker before he was drafted into the United States Army. After his honorable service to his country, Mr. Dixon provided for his family through his employment for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Brother Amos was a member of the Mt. Hope Lodge #96 and went on to be a 33rd Degree Mason. He loved to hunt and fish and also loved going to the Rodeos. His main hobby was his skills preparing BBQ. He was the best in town.
Later in life, he married his second wife, Mary Alice Bryd. Better known as "Bull" , he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie and Ernest Dixon; his wife, Louise Dixon; two brothers, Aaron and Tim Dixon; and a sister, Goldie Dixon Johnson.
He leaves to lament his death; his children, Nathan and Joyce Dixon, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Tony and Terry [Sherry] Dixon, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his brother, Nathaniel Dixon, Los Angeles, California; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gone but never forgotten. You will truly be missed.
The final farewell to "Bull" will commence on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Macedonia Baptist Church. The Pastor, Reverend Judson Fields, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Northwest Cemetery in Okmulgee.
