Amos Henry was born on March 17, 1964 in Tullahassee, Oklahoma, the son of L. V. and Rosetta [Howell] Henry, Sr. He was the 12th child born from this union.
Amos suffered many health challenges as he grew up. He attended United Temple Holiness Church and gave his life to the Lord at an early age, under the Pastoral guidance of Reverend James Singleton, Sr.
He attended school in Tullahassee and graduated from Historic Carter G. Woodson High School. He then enlisted in the U. S. Army Reserves in Fort Benton, Georgia, but due to health issues, he received a medical discharge.
Amos was a hard worker, always giving his best to his employers. He always trusted in the Lord to carry him through the many obstacles in his life. Amos lived in Miami, Oklahoma, where he was employed with Blitz USA, where he was a supervisor manufacturing gasoline containers.
Amos was blessed with three children, Amos Henry, Jr., Ailiyah and Capri billings. He was a proud daddy, who loved his children and they loved their daddy. He had a humble heart and was a spiritual uplift to all he knew.
On Monday, January 11, 2016, Amos Henry, Sr., surrendered his soul to Jesus from Miami, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, L. V. and Rosetta Henry, Sr., three brothers, Kenneth R. Henry, Raymond Henry and L. V. Henry, Jr., along with other relatives.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his children, Amos Jr., Ailiyah and Capri; four grandchildren; six sisters, Rena Corbitt, Mamie Maxwell, Onetta Lyons, Angelina Morgan, Zetta Gilford and Hester Dean; four brothers, Mervin Grayson, Cecil Henry, Willie Henry and Joel Henry; and a caravan of other relatives and many friends.
The final hour with Mr. Henry will be on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the most Holy sanctuary of the Faith Deliverance Christian Center. Reverend John Tottress will officiate. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
