A Celebration of Life for Andrea J. Mure-Thurman

On June 30, 1960 God blessed AJ & Doris with a beautiful baby girl. She was the 4 ^th child born into their union, she was the equilibrium of the 7 children. She provided balance, warmth and a sense of calmness. Her name was Andrea Jeanette Mure. Andrea was a very kind, loving, supportive, nurturing, protective person with a heart of gold. She loved hard and had compassion for anyone and if she could help you, she would do it without hesitation or a second thought. She was selfless and would give her last dollar to help out or sit for hours with a loved one at the hospital despite being ill or tired herself and would rarely complain.  Andrea was a joy to anyone who encountered her beautiful spirit. She loved God and her family dearly. She got saved at a young age.

Andrea attended Charles S. Johnson & Walt Whitman Elementary Schools, Gilcrease Middle School and Raymond S. McLain Senior High School where she graduated with the class of 1978. She attended Northside Church of God In Christ for over 52 years. Where she sang in the choir and helped cook dinners with her mother. She worked for Tulsa Public Schools.

Andrea married immediately after high school and in her union, she bore 4 children: David and Erick Thurman, Tamara Thurman-Revels (Dontae) and Sam McKenzie. Andrea loved singing, praying, reading the bible and Holy texts, praising God and telling others about the goodness of the Lord, listening to gospel music. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her mother. Andrea was preceded in death by her father Andrew Jackson "AJ" Mure, her eldest sister Bonnie Wilson, both sets of paternal and maternal grandparents, and 9 aunts and uncles.

Ms. Andrea Janette Thurman in her 58th Season transitioned to Eternal Rest on Sunday February 17, 2019 in Tulsa.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her 4 children: David & Erick Thurman, Tamara Thurman-Revels (Dontae) and Sam McKenzie. Six Grandchildren: Ericka and C'Erick Thurman, DJ and Dericko Revels, Aiden and D'Angelo Thurman. 2 Great-Grandchildren: Kendrick & Kemani Booze. Her Mother: Doris Jenkins-Jeffers. 5 Siblings: Ambrose Mure Sr., Oneda Mure-Blyden (Glennbert), Beverly Mure-Briggs, Kevin Mure Sr. and Reginald Mure Sr. 2 Brother-In-Laws: Robert and John Thurman. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special niece: Mia Hancock

Services will commence on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 1PM in The Tulsa Chapel.
