Celebrating the Life of Angela Holmes-Cooks

Angela Holmes was born to the proud parents of M.C. and Willa Holmes, on December 22, 1966 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She was the third child born to this union.

Angela matriculated through the Tulsa Public Schools system and graduated from Booker T Washington High School with honors in 1985.  She later continued her education at Community Care College where she attended for 2 years.

Throughout her adult life she was a conscientious hard worker with a gentle spirit and she loved what she did at Sodexo, where she worked until her health began to fail.

Angela accepted Christ into her life at an early age, where she attended Vernon AME Church.

Angela " Angie " as we all called her, had a heart of gold and she never met a stranger. Angie will be remembered for her love for her family and friends, her big beauitful smile that was oh so contagious,  her warm hugs and words of encouragement people loved being in her presence, she'd always keep it real and she never judged anyone, she was always a great listener; as she would say " Everyone has a story".

Angie married the love of her life Cecil Ray Cooks in holy matrimony on November 21, 2003,  where she inherited 3 lovely step children.  Angie was also a devoted Grandmother to her Grandkids.

In the last moments of her life, with her loving family and support group near, Angela in her 50th year, after fighting the good fight keeping the faith, finished her course and surrendered her soul to Jesus. She was preceded in death with opening arms her Father M.C. Holmes, her Grandparents Willie Hall, Leona Williams, Henry Holmes & Lena Walton, her four Aunts Barthell Jenkins, Betty Barnett, Annie Mae Hunter, Lillian Collins, her two Uncles Carlee Holmes and Cornelius Holmes.

She leaves in Gods care to celebrate her life:  her loving Husband Cecil Cooks, her loving Mother Willa Holmes, her Daughters Andrea Holmes , Shayla Holmes , Whitney Cooks, Latorya Cooks, her Sons Brandon Holmes, Eric Cooks, Chazrae Cooks, her Grandkids who she adored, TJ, Brooklynn, Braydon, Braylon, Mariyah, Oriana, Lashawn, Demeco and Chazrae Jr., Sisters Alecia Hicks, Regina Edmundson, Lisa George, Eileen Cooks-Palmer (Rico), and her Brothers, Keith Holmes, Gaylon Holmes, Chris Holmes, Calvin (Shellie) George, Kevin (Phyllis) George, Mark (Sonja) George, Steve Cherry, (Dallas,TX) Chuck Miller and Uncles, Harold (Joe) Walton & Clarence (Gwen) Walton (Omaha, NE) Aunt Elice Lewis and a very special Niece LaToya Denham, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
