Obituary

Mrs. Anne Sheridan Lyons, "inched along through life's trials and troubles until Jesus came to take her home on Thursday evening, October 1, 2015 from her home in Boynton, Oklahoma.

She was born on June 11, 1944 in the Dawson, Texas from the loving union of Ocel and Lillie Bell [Crowder] Carroll. Sister Anne attended school in Dawson, Texas and after graduation, she moved to Hollis, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma State Technical College, where she graduated as a Data Input Operator.

Anne met Willie Edward Lyons in 1970 and after falling in love, they were married in 1974. Together, they raised five children; Alethea Carroll, Killeen, Texas, Danita Whitfield, Boynton, Oklahoma, Roland [Paola] Carroll, Gilbert, Arizona, Roma [Tony] Presley, Boynton, Oklahoma,and Dwayne [LaDonna} Lyons, Haskell, Oklahoma; she was a grandmother of Sixteen grandchildren; Earnest, Ronnie, Rolando, Rolinda, Anthony, Rosalia, Dora, MaKayla, Christian, Alexsandra, Arianna, Joshua, Jordan, Joseph, Crea and Chanel; a great-grandmother of Eleven; Braylen, Gabriella, Elijah, Alexander, Trayshon, Aryanria, Ayden, Sydney, Kaiden, DeKadrian and Ke'onte.

Anne was loved and cherished by the many she ministered to - those in need, and those she shared her love of Christ with. All who would listen to her, she would share her ministry with. She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by both parents, two siblings, Mary Jane and Roshone, and a step-son, Dewayne. Sister Anne also leaves behind to celebrate her life; five sisters, Shirl Campbell, Janie Lands, Mertline Bell, Jesse Means, all of Hollis Oklahoma and Karen Whitfield, Killeen, Texas; three brothers, Melton Bell, Jr., Allen Bell and Ernest Bell, all of Hollis, Oklahoma; along with a caravan of loving family and friends from every walk of life.

The family would like to take a moment to thank all who prayed for, loved, encouraged, supported, visited, or rendered any kind expression of sympathy during this period of adjustment. May God Bless you all.

The Hour of Tributes will commence on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church of Haskell. Pastor Gary McKeen is the gracious host Pastor, Reverend Larry Pouncil, Pastor of Eastside First Baptist Church will officiate and Reverend John Sells will give the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Doyle Cemetery at Yahola, Oklahoma.

You may visit Mother Lyons, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home in Muskogee on Friday from 12 Noon until 7:00 PM.
