Reflections of Our Beloved Sister

Annie May Kernal was born in Tallulah, Louisiana, on July 2, 1965.

Her parents were Peter Bell and Alberta Bell. She fell in love and married Terry Kernal on October 1, 1992.

She worked as a housing counselor with deserving families and organizations to support moderate and low-income clients in overcoming barriers to housing and financial stability in the Tulsa and Fort Worth areas for many years. She worked briefly at La Petite Academy, but her life work was at the housing authority, performing her passion for helping others.

She enjoyed traveling, hiking, jazz, and sports events, especially with her husband. She also enjoyed attending social events with friends and family.

She was a member of the Sigma Doves at the University of Oklahoma from the Fall of 1984 through the Spring of 1987, receiving her associate's degree in Nursing.

She also loved shopping and spending time with loved ones. Although she has gone on to be with the love of her life, Terry Kernal, in eternal rest on September 18, 2023, she will always be in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by Terry Kernal (Husband), Sydney N Kernal (Daughter), Alberta C Dews (sister), Rapheal Dews (nephew), Peter Bell (father), Missionary Alberta Dews (Mother), and Elder William E Dews (step-father).

Ms. Annie May Kernal is survived by her siblings Mary Parrish (Ricky) of Tulsa, Dolores Netters of Tulsa, William E. Dews Jr. of Tulsa, Charlene Lucas (Lee) of Tulsa, and Ruth Dews-Lounds (Michael) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She has a bonus family through marriage, family she chose for herself through friends, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews and a goddaughter.

Ms. Annie Kernal, in her 58th year, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, September 18, 2023, in Ft. Worth, Texas.

The celebratory service for Annie will commence on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the All Faiths Chapel of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc.
