Obituary

Mrs. Annie Mae Murray, after 59 years, crossed over into Eternity on Thursday afternoon, January 26, 2006 from a local nursing home.

Annie Mae was born on February 7, 1946, the daughter of Thurman and Irene M. Beavers. She was affectionately referred to as "Mommie" to her 5 children.

After her birth, her grandfather wanted to raise her, so she was reared by Fisher and Lula Roland. Her mother loved her and was always a special part of her life. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the Bethel AME Church.

Falling away from grace, she accepted the plan of salvation on her sick bed and received the Lord as her Savior. She attended Dunbar Elementary, Sadler Junior High and Manual Training High School.

After leaving High School, she met and married Thaddeus Murray, Sr., and this union was blessed with 5 children. Several years later, she became an optical technician and moved to Topeka, Kansas. She then returned to Muskogee at a later point in her life and labored as a provider and domestic worker.

On Thursday, January 26, 2006, Annie Mae fell into peaceful repose at Pleasant Valley Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband, 13 siblings and a precious granddaughter, Dinah M.Murray, along with 4 uncles and an aunt.

She is survived by 5 wonderful children; Thaddeus and Christopher, Darphus and Heather, Lucas and Chaundra and Theus and William; 4 sisters, Velma Brown, Shirley Smith, Ruby Barker and Gloria Scott; 4 brothers, Oliver Beavers, Alex Evitt, Kenneth Russell and Edward Russell; grandchildren, Lacresha, Kyonna, Jacques, Alexis, Christopher Jr., Deonte, Alyssa, Darphus Jr., Davion and one great-grandchild, Jayshaun; along with other relatives and friends.

The farewell will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend B. W. Noble, Senior Pastor, will Preside. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.

You may visit Mrs. Murry on Thursday from 12 Noon until 6 PM at the funeral home.
