Reflection on the Loving Memory of
Anthony DeVon Payne
My son wasn't a perfect angel all the time but he was mine, born Monday August 10th, 1981 at 9:37pm to Mary Ann and Elmer Payne Jr. at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma. He gave his live to Christ at a very young age and was baptized at Skelly Drive Baptist Church. As a young adult he knew the importance of having the Lord at his side thus he renewed his vows several times with God. As a young child and into adult hood he had a special bond of love with his grandmother Zenobia Manning.
Anthony (Tony) was very outspoken yet he could be quite and understanding. Tony enjoyed writing poetry, drawing, cooking, or just talking and he especially enjoyed spending time with his little angel Ashton. He made friends easily and was loved by many because he was genuinely honest.
Anthony was preceded in death by his great grandmother Ernestine Myles, grandmother Dorothy Goudeau, his grandfather Elmer Payne Sr. and his brother Henry Payne.
Anthony leaves behind to cherish his memories: son (Ashton DeVon Payne), Mother (Mary Ann Goudeau), Brothers (Alexander Isokariari) (Derick Louis), Sister (Delisa Payne), Grandmother (Zenobia Manning), Father (Elmer Payne Jr.) and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friend.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
Services for Mr. Payne will be Friday January 7, 2010 at 11AM at Skelly Drive Baptist Church near 31st and Memorial in Tulsa. Visitation will be Thursday from 10AM to 7PM.
