A time to be born…
Anthony "Tony" LaMar Vice, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was born August 8, 1969, to Linda Vice and the late Dwayne Rogers. From this union he was the oldest of four children and the only son.
A time to plant and grow…
Tony accepted his Lord and Savior at the early age of twelve being baptized and uniting with Saint Luke Baptist Church. As an adult he was a member of Agape Bible Fellowship, where he was part of the security ministry.
He received his formal education in the Tulsa public school system. Tony attended Dunbar Elementary, Lee Elementary and Bell Junior High school. During his high school years, he played football and was a talented soccer player. In 1987, he graduated from Nathan Hale High school and went on to attend Langston University.
Tony was employed with the City of Tulsa Public Library for thirty-two years. He was a person who worked hard with the desire to grow and excel in any job that he held. While employed with the City of Tulsa, Tony started out as a security guard before being promoted to manager. In 2017, he was promoted to a director position having oversight for security throughout the Tulsa public library system. He also was the sole proprietor of his own security company.
Tony was a strong pillar within the Tulsa community often volunteering at the North Mabee Center, coaching little league sports teams and mentoring numerous kids and young adults. Throughout the years, he sponsored the Langston University classic football games at Booker T. Washington high school. He especially enjoyed hosting a swim bash at Big Splash, comedy shows and various music events.
Tony never met a stranger, he made friends with practically everyone he met. He enjoyed life to the fullest and especially loved to make people laugh.
A time to love…
On July 5, 2009, Tony was united in holy matrimony to DeAndre (DeeDee) Anderson-Blakey. They shared fifteen years of love. Together they blended their blessed life of eight children sharing many happy memories and an abundance of love and laughter. Outside of the love he had for his family, Tony was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. Win or lose, he faithfully supported "We Dem Boyz"!
A time to fly…
Before dawn, in the late hours of Sunday March 26 th , The Master called Tony home. He was proceeded in death by his father, Dwayne Rodgers, his paternal grandparents Frank and Eula Rodgers, his maternal grandparents Malvine and Myrtle Vice and sister, Tracee Rayburn.
A time to mourn…
Tony leaves a legacy of loved ones to cherish his precious memories: His wife, DeAndre (Dee Dee) Vice. His children, Charmae Vice and Jenai Van Dyke of Mansfield, TX., Ari and Elijah Vice, Eric, Deric, Andre, and Perry Blakey, all of Tulsa, OK. His mother Linda Jones; Sisters: Dana Vice, Tamika Jones, Joi Alexander, all of Tulsa, OK., and brother LaRon Rodgers of Oklahoma City, OK. Grandchildren: Aubrey and Nori Williams of Mansfield, TX., Liliana, Rashad and Autumn Blakey of Oklahoma City, OK. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.
Public Visitation will be Tuesday April 4, 2023 from 1PM until 6PM inside The Tulsa Chapel.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 11AM at Greater Union Baptist Church - Tulsa.
