IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deric Anthony
Wilson
November 5, 1968 – February 14, 2026
Mr. Anthony Wilson entered into eternal rest in his 57th year, now in the loving care of God.
On November 5, 1968, Armous Luther Wilson and Mildred G. Wilson welcomed a bouncing baby boy into the world. They named him Deric Anthony Wilson, though most knew him simply as Anthony. He grew up in Okmulgee and attended school at Preston, where he formed the foundations of his character and community. He graduated high school in 1987.
At a young age, Anthony accepted Christ and developed a lifelong relationship with God, which remained a guiding light throughout his life. Anthony was always active and adventurous. He played baseball and basketball, and could often be found outside — riding bikes, horseback riding, and exploring up the road with Dent and Vic, or around the corner in either direction with Kenneth or Peabody.
He never met a stranger, and his quick wit and love of jokes made him a natural jokester among friends and family. From the very beginning, Anthony carried a quiet strength — observant, thoughtful, and determined in his own way. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, it mattered. He could be stubborn — firm in his beliefs and set in his ways — yet beneath that strong exterior was a heart that loved deeply, even if he didn’t always show it.
In 1990, Anthony met and married Lisa Ross. They were married in 1991. From this union came two beautiful daughters who would become one of the greatest joys of his life. Though the marriage later dissolved, being a devoted father remained a constant thread in his life. Anthony celebrated his daughters’ accomplishments, encouraged their dreams, and remained a steady source of guidance, love, and support throughout their lives.
Anthony loved horses — there was something about their strength and spirit that resonated with him. He also loved his family, even if he didn’t always say it out loud. In his own way, he showed up the best he knew how. His presence, his lessons, and even his stubbornness are pieces of him that will live on in those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Armous Wilson, his sister, Kathy Dalcour and his nephew Nicolas Phillips.
He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Lynn Wilson and Ryann Wilson (Eugene Grissom); his four grandchildren, Gianni and Ta’Lon Delonia, and Armous and Ike Grissom; his sisters, Carieta Antwine (Willie Jr.), Alice Wilson, Sherl Montgomery (Paul), Donna Wilson, and Brian Wilson (Theresa); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." — Matthew 5:4
