Obituary

In Nuyaka, Oklahoma, a baby girl was born from the union of Charles E. and Geraldine [Williams] Jones, Sr., on the first day of October in 1953.  They named their precious, new daughter Arnetta.

Arnetta was raised in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where she attended Okmulgee Public Schools, ultimately at historic Dunbar High School and graduating from Okmulgee High School with the Class of 1973.  She enjoyed life and had many occupations.  She was a health care provider and also worked in food services, as well as employment at Liberty Glass Company.  She also was once a member of Cleaves Memorial CME Church, where she sang in the choir.

Arnetta had a big heart.  She loved making people laugh.  One thing she was always quoted as saying was "you know I'm nosey" and that she was.  She had a green thumb and loved her plants.  Arnetta loved spending time traveling with her best friend, Tiny, and enjoyed road trips with her sister, Carol Jo.  She also enjoyed fishing.

After 63 years with us, Arnetta Jones Bruner closed her eyes on Earth and woke up in Glory!.  She was preceded in death by her parents,  her siblings, Charles Etta Jones, Aldora Jones Colbert, Jerri Jones Goudeau, and LaVern Jones, a grandchild, Tey'Jon Cashlee Jones, and a host of other relatives.

She leaves in God's care;  her husband, Willis Bruner, Jr., of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;  her daughter, LaRhonda Jones, Tulsa, Oklahoma;  her son, Nikie Jones, McAlester, Oklahoma;  her God-son, Christopher Ramirez, Lawton, Oklahoma;  her God-daughter, Akkia Murphy, Tulsa, Oklahoma;  her grandchildren, Brett Williamson, George Williamson, Jr., Avion Williamson and Linear Williamson;  her brothers, John Jones and Dick Gregory Jones, both of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Mark Jones, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Charles Jones, Jr., O'fallon, Illinois;  her sisters, Carolyn "Carol Jo" McCall, Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Florence Diane Jones Williamson, Tulsa, Oklahoma;  and those who were like her daughters, Deshanna Colbert, Geraldine Marquita Jones and Kimberly Muhammad; along with other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Ceremony will be shared on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Peace at the funeral home in Okmulgee.  Reverend Lee E. Benson will officiate.
