May 27, 1956 a bundle of joy was delivered to Birdie Mae Liddell and Roosevelt Shrubbs in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The named their brand new baby girl Arnita.
A rnita J. Sanders grew up in Tulsa. There, she attended Carver Junior High School where she played the flute. Growing up, Arnita was outgoing, and very outspoken, using her energy as a cheerleader at Carver. Her formal education culminated upon graduation from Tulsa Central High School with the class of 1974. At Central she continued to play the flute in the marching band, and also ran track.
Upon graduation, Arnita went on to attend Draughon School of Business where she completed her degree as a medical secretary. After receiving her degree she was employed by St. John's Medical Center where she grew in the knowledge of the medical field.
Recognizing her spiritual need, Arnita accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Rhoads at Page Memorial Church of God in Christ in Tulsa where she attended Sunday School and participated in the youth programs. Arnita moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1978 with her small son DeAndre. She met Mr. Darrell Williams and on May 9, 1981, they were united in Holy Matrimony. From this union their daughter Tara was born. She loved her children and grandchildren. Ever involved, they were the apple of her eye. She loved her family and friends. There is nothing that she wouldn't do for anyone that needed help. She supported her children and so many others in their youth activities but her favorite was football and youth cheerleaders.
A rnita joined the Church of The Living God PG&T, under the leadership of Overseer Otis T. McAlaster. She was a youth leader, a Sunday School teacher, president of the mass choir, part of the Trinity ministry, the prison ministry, and also the nursing home ministry. She was a faithful servant until her health began to fail.
A rnita was employed by Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, where she was a hard worker, committed, and loved by many. She worked for Integris Baptist Medical Center Baptist for 34 years and retired on December 31, 2013.
On Thursday April 24, 2014 surrounded by her close family, Mrs. Arnita J. Williams, closed her eyes to Eternal Rest. Her parents preceded her in death. She leaves too cherish her precious memories; her husband Darrell Williams, her children: DeAndre Haynes and Tara Williams, both of Oklahoma City, OK, grandchildren DeAndre Haynes Jr(Baby Dee), Cordae Lewis, Daija Haynes, Tristen Haynes, Oklahoma City, OK, her siblings: Sherry Ross, Tulsa, OK, Wilma Scott(Ron), James Cooper, both of Oklahoma City, OK, Lovetta Sanders, John Sanders, Alane Robinson(Clifford), Donnell Sanders(Gilda) all of Tulsa, OK, and Regina Johnson, Manhattan, KS, three aunts and three uncles, nieces and nephews, in-laws, her special friend Pat Washington, and a host of relatives and friends.
