Arnold Perkin's life began in Wagoner, Oklahoma on March 4, 1960. He was the third oldest child of Raymond and Betty Perkins, Sr.
Arnold grew up in the community of Oktaha, and was a 1978 graduate of Oktaha High School. Arnold enjoyed many Sunday afternoon of playing basketball and riding horses on the beautiful Oktaha Countryside near the New Hope Community.
He worked various jobs, but his all time favorite job was training race horses. Arnold had the ultimate life experience of training "Refrigerator", the richest race horse in history-earning over 2 million dollars. "Refrigerator was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2000.
Arnold Perkin's life came to a close on Thursday, March 26, 2015 in Oktaha. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Perkins, Sr., and a brother, Chester Perkins.
He leaves to lament his death; his loving mother, Betty Perkins-Campbell; his siblings, Raymond [Claudia] Perkins, Keefeton, Oklahoma, Alfred Perkins, Muskogee, Oklahoma, Michael Perkins, Oktaha, Oklahoma, Janice [James] McVay, Edmond, Oklahoma, Wilma Gibson, Houston, Texas, Wayne Perkins, Decatur, Arkansas and Toni Campbell, Muskogee, Oklahoma; special friends, Robert [Jowanda] Moham and Clint Barnett; his devoted, loyal companions, his dogs, who loved and protected Arnold, even at his time of death; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all loved him dearly.
Service of Memory for Mr. Perkins will be on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the Oktaha High School Gymnasium.
