Obituary

Arthur Robert Williams was born August 21st,1935 to Nathan and Ruby (Brown) Williams in Panama City, F lorida .

" Art ," as he was affectionately referred to, married Connie Jackson-Barr in Milwaukee, W isconsin on April 19th, 1973. Their union was blessed with one son, Jason.

Mr. Williams joined the United States Army in 1960, serving his country honorably as a medic and employee of a military hospital in Germany. He felt that education was imperative, and earned his bachelor's degree at Wiley College. He furthered his education by obtaining his master's degree at Northeastern State University. Art was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha F raternity , Inc., a school teacher and coach, where he retired from teaching at Muskogee Public Schools. He enjoyed bowling, listening to music, and gardening.

After 83 years with us, Arthur Robert Williams left this life for a life eternal on Friday afternoon, March 1, 2019 from Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Ruby; his sisters, Alma, Vera, and Verta; and his brother, Nathan.

Those left to cherish his memory: his wife Connie, of the home; son, Jason (Sara) and grandchildren, Kaylee, Alexander, and Andrew; sister, Irene McKinney; brother, Thomas Williams; nephew Steve Johnson; dear friends, Leon "Slack" Miller, Ray and Susan Harrison, Roger and Marilyn Parks, George Payne, Jocelyn Payne, Wanda Simpson, Misty West, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and students.
A Celebration of Life for Brother Art Williams will commence on Thursday morning, March 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the most Holy sanctuary of the Boulevard Christian Church.  Pastor James McCracken, Pastor, will officiate.
You may visit Art on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Omega Memorial Ceremony rendered by his Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., will commence at 7:06 PM in the People's Chapel of the funeral home.  The public is welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made in his memory to the Memorial Fund c/o Boulevard Christian Church.
