I was born in Oktaha, Oklahoma on February 27, 1950, the handsome son of Atchielee and Anna Mae Derrick.
I've spent my childhood in Oktaha. As a young man, at the age of eight, I accepted Christ as my personal savior and was baptized by Reverend McGill. I attended grade school and later graduated from Manual Training High School with the Class of 1968.
Many people who knew me will tell you I was known by my smile and my bold words and the way I greeted those I met. My love for people extended far beyond my immediate family, but into my neighborhood.
Some of my fondest times were spent jogging, fishing, gardening and karate, of which I was known as "Super Lee." I spent my past times reading the bible and always had a word of encouragement. I served my church faithfully and was a deacon at Four Mile Branch Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Terry L. Kirts.
As hard as it may seem, I loved all of you, so lift your head up and live on. I finished my race on Friday, July 27, 2018. I crossed over into the promised land, no more sickness, no more distress, "Hey Family, I made it." When I arraived at Heaven's gate, I was greeted by my dad, two brothers anda sister, along with countless other family and friends.
I will live on because I leave to keep my memory alive; my large and loving family which meant the world to me. My devoted wife, Brenda K. Derrick; by beloved children, Tommy Derrick, Niko Snader Mann, Angelic Walker, Randi Ship, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kenyonne Derrick, Taniesha Blue, Terrell Blue, Christopher Harris, Sharica Cole, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Felicia Barnes, Tallahassee, Florida, Alicia Walker, Alexandria, Virginia, Amir Isbell, Laurel, Maryland, Sarah Johnson, Muskogee, Oklahoma; my mother, Anna M.
