Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Ann Brown, in her 57th year, peacefully stole away from earth to heaven on Thursday evening, May 18, 2006. She was born in Providence Hospital in Muskogee on August 31, 1948, the beautiful daughter of Atchielee and Anna Mae Derrick, Sr. She began her education in Summit and Oktaha before graduation from Historic Manual Training High School with the Class of 1967. At the tender age of 11, she became a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Later in life, she joined Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she served the Lord faithfully. Mrs. Brown never liked being late for anything and was on time for whatever function she was attending. She was a hard worker, outspoken and stood firmly in her beliefs. She helped her husband provide for her family through her employment at Corning Glass Company for over 20 years and also for Muskogee Public Schools. She was married to Ardee Brown, the love of her life for 35 years and they were blessed with 3 children. Barbara enjoyed fishing, knitting, flowering and gardening, but most of all, she thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and family time. A baby brother preceded her in death. Remaining to wait on the Lord; her devoted husband, R. D.[Ardee], of the home; a daughter, Beulah Joyce [Tony] Horn, Muskogee, OK; 2 sons, Ardee Jr.[Questa], Tulsa, OK and Glenn Lennart [Tabitha] Brown, Muskogee, OK; her parents, Atchielee, of Kansas and Anna Mae Derrick, Muskogee; her mother-in-law, Velma L. The tribute will be on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Her Pastor, Rev. Vanzelen G. Brown, will Preside. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum in Muskogee. You may visit Mrs. Brown, as she slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., on Tuesday from 2 PM to 7 PM.
