Barbara Ann Mason was born on November 12, 1955 in Tulsa Oklahoma to parents, Sylvester Mason and Blobbie Jean Madlock. She was the oldest child of their union. She grew up in a home where they believed in God.

Barbara attended Booker T. Washington High School and graduated in May 1974. She married her soulmate, Lorenzo Divens Jr. III on August 29, 1981. They were married for 34 years and raised two daughters, Lashonda Divens and Tamara Divens together in a Christ centered home. She was the proud grandmother of four grandsons, whom she loved, Deshia Peters, Joshua Peters, Gerald Peters III, Ronjay Peters.

Barbara Divens attended New Testament Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Dwayne Blue. She remained a faithful prayer warrior until she went home to be with the Lord. Her most heart filled moments were reading the Bible and praying with her mother every night. She enjoyed reading scriptures on love ("And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deuteronomy 6:5")

Barbara left behind in God's hands:Father: Sylvester Mason, mother: Bobbie Madlock (Lincoln), Husband Lorenzo Divens Jr. III, two daughters: Lashonda Peters, Tamara Divens –Prather(Trent), Brothers: Amos Mason, Sylvester Mason Jr., Clayton Mason, Dwayne Mason, Terry Mason, Tony Madlock, Rongey Madlock , Sisters: Debra Webb, Regina Mason, Melisha San Jaun, Sonda Madlock, and Martha Peevy. four grandsons: Deshia Peters, Joshua Peters, Gerald Peters III, Ronjay Peters.

Services for Barbara Divens will be Saturday July 30, 2016 at 11AM at Sanctuary Evangelistic Church in Tulsa.

Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Tulsa.

Friends may visit Mrs. Divens on Friday from 1PM until 7PM in Tulsa.
