Obituary

On August 23, 1937, a bundle of joy was delivered to the late Nelson Andrew Jackson and Beatrice Naomi Jackson. She was the second of 14 children born to this union. She was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church in the community of Snake Creek, near Bixby, Oklahoma. Her educational journey Mount Vernon Elementary School in Snake Creek, Carver Junior High School in Tulsa, and culminating with her graduation from Booker T. Washington High School with the class of 1956. She went on to attend college at Langston University where she proudly served as a majorette.

Barbara owned and operated Fields Produce in Tulsa and Bixby. She was a very proficient woman, and connoisseur of food and arts. Prior to her passing, she worked as a produce sales associate for Wal-Mart. She had a great ability for mastering many trades. Her hobbies included swimming, drawing, painting, sewing, and gardening. Barbara was the most generous and selfless person. She worked hard to make others happy. She is survived by her mother Beatrice Jackson. Three children, and three siblings preceded her in death. She is also survived by her children: Anita Ahmad, Edmond, OK., Marsha Jackson Alexander, Redbird, OK., Darryl Alexander, Bixby, OK., Charles Fields, JR., Barbara Ann Al Sharif, Reshannea Fields, Dallas, TX., Kristy Fields, Tulsa, OK., Dejuan Fields, Tulsa, OK., Debrecka Briggs, Tulsa, OK., son in-laws: Sajid Al Sharif, and Dominique Briggs, Tulsa, OK., 25 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 10 siblings: Evelyn Abdullah, Tulsa, OK., June Thompson, Tulsa, OK., Nelson, Jackson, Tulsa, OK., Jackie Jackson, Bixby, OK., Jimmy Jackson, Olympia WA., Joyce Goff, Bixby, OK., Frances Driver, Tulsa, OK., Dianne Jackson, Bixby, OK., Sandra Edwards Oats, Los Angeles, CA., and Patricia Al Sharif, Broken Arrow, OK., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Services will be at New Beginnings Baptist Church in Bixby at 11:30AM. Friends may visit her on Friday from 12Noon to 7PM.
