On September 27, 1962, a beautiful baby girl was born to Willie Mae Jones and Leonard Lewis. They named her Barbara Ann Lewis.
Barbara grew up in Okmulgee, where she attended Okmulgee High School. She later attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, where she studied in the Graphic Arts Design Program.
"Bob" was employed by Walgreens, where she was the Senior Beauty Advisor. She was a member of the East Virgin Street Church of Christ in Tulsa, where she resided for the last 13 years. Those that knew her well referred to her as "Bob - Bold Outstanding Beauty!" Barbara was a strong minded woman who gave her heart to all. She enjoyed playing dominoes and taking photo's. She was funny and uplifting to everyone who was any one. Barbara kept a camera at all times and with each photo she took, she kept a piece of you and gave so much of herself.
On the 10th day of September, 2008, God called home his precious Angel, Barbara Ann Lewis, to sit by His side and rejoice. She will be missed by all who knew her. Waiting to greet her in Glory; Grandma Bertha Jones, Grandma Ernestine Lewis, Granpa Preston Lewis, Sr., and also several Aunts and Uncles.
Remaining to wait on the Lord; her only child, Eureka Lewis, Tulsa, Oklahoma; her mother, Willie Mae Jones; her father, Leonard Lewis [Sharon Kay], all of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Terrill Lewis, Alfred Lewis, Eva Lewis, Eureko Lewis adn En'Montae Lewis; four sisters, Rachelle Pearson [Wiley], Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Sandra K. "Terri Lynn" Jones, Denton, Texas, Felecia "Dinky" Lewis, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Donna Lewis, Dallas, Texas; four brothers, Elvis Jones McGee, Michael Ray Lewis, Marlon Jones and Teron Jones, all of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; along with a caravan of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Monday, September 15, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church-Central, in Okmulgee. Rev. P. W. Jackson, Sr., Pastor, will officiate and her uncle, Dr. Jerry Lewis, Eulogist.
She will be laid to rest in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Okmulgee.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 PM to 3 PM at the funeral home in Okmulgee.
