On June 20, 1947, a bouncing, baby girl was born to Rosetta Goudeau and Alfred Currin, whom they gave the name of Beatrice Lois Currin.
"Grannie Bea" as she was known to many, went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2020. Bea was the most caring, sweet and loving person you would ever meet. If you had no place to lay your head, Bea gave you a place; if you needed a meal, you were welcome to what she had; she was just their for any and everyone who needed her.
Bea was a member of the Gardenia Art Club, where she was an active member. She worked many jobs and retired from Georgia Pacific in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Warrior Community west of Checotah.
"Grannie Bea" was the loving mother of Raymond [Cassandra] Dan, and Ramone Jackson, of Checotah, Oklahoma, DeShawn Jackson, of Florida and Wanita Martin, of Iowa; the sister, of Berneice [David C.] Jackson, Checotah, Jacqueline [Cecil] Robinson, Oklahoma City, Minnie Loggins, and Vicki L. Smith, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Sand Moore, Oklahoma City, Gail, Pam and Paula Currin, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, vivian [Randolph] Barnes, Oklahoma City, and Odessa Currin, Oklahoma City; sister to her brothers, Frank Currin, Tiger Mountain, Charles Currin, Boynton, Oklahoma and Mike Currin, Grayson, Oklahoma; the grandmother to Arquesha Horton, Cierra Bigson, McKenzie Dan, Starla and Skylor; the great-grandmother to 7 great-grandchildren; and a relative to a caravan of Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. She was a special friend to Lois McGee, Howard Anderson and Ruth Fields Children, and Eletha Burkhalter.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ragle Dan and her daughter, Demetrice Dan. May she rest in eternal peace. She will be missed by all who knew and loved Beatrice Lois Dan.
You may visit Sister Beatrice, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Muskogee on Friday, May 1, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM and beginning at 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
Her final hour, with the limited 10 designated persons will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 2, 2020 in the People's Chapel. Burial will follow in the Warrior Cemetery, west of Checotah, Oklahoma.
