Obituary
Benjamin Jerome Sims, better known to all as "Bennie" was born in Larned, Kansas on January 22, 1956, the son of Bennie Jumper and Annie Hutcherson.
While he was in grade school, he moved to Taft, Oklahoma and later graduated from Taft Moton High School in 1974. He then moved back to Kansas and met and married Angie Sims. From this union, two children were born; his daughter, Tasha preceded him in death.
Bennie later returned to Oklahoma, where he resided until his health began to fail. He had such a good heart, and to know him was to love him. He went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He leaves to cherish his memory; a son, Courtney [Angie] Sims, Hutchinson, Kansas; his grandchildren, Lillyanna and Malachi; five sisters, Bonnie McDaniel, Summit, Oklahoma, Rosalind Jones, Taft, Oklahoma, Margaret Collins, Texas and April Golden, Muskogee, Oklahoma; his nieces and nephews, LaMecia Anderson, Shetara Sims-Clark, Kansas City, Missouri, Donna and Dwight Sims, Texas, Jamaal Gardenhire, Arkansas, LaDarron Jones, Texas, Savon Watts, Missouri, Delanie Rentie, Texas, Charles Teague, Jr., Jamie Teague, Alethia Mabin, all of Kansas City, Missouri, Rodney Strand, Muskogee, Amos Henry, Texas, Kristin Hill, Muskogee, Oklahoma; he also leaves behind a host of cousins, other relatives that he loved and that loved him; and also a special friend, Carol Miller, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The family will share in a Memorial Tribute, including scattering of his ashes and a balloon release on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 3:00 PM in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery.
