My Life Remembered....

Bennie Gahagans, Jr. was born July 4, 1930, in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Mary "Mae" Simon (mother) and Bennie D. Gahagans, Sr. (father).

Bennie attended Booker T. Washington High School in Eufaula, Oklahoma.  He later worked in several positions demonstrating talents ranging from shining shoes, hospitality services, and later serving travelers throughout Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Those close to him knew he valued his customers, as he tried to give them the best experience possible.  Known for his clean looks, his sharp dress, and his smooth voice, he was referred to as "a popular man" in some circles.  He could brighten up a room in his clean white suit.

Bennie spent most of his adult life in Tulsa, Oklahoma, although he had resided in other cities and states to include Oklahoma City, California, and Arizona.

Bennie is survived by his sons, James Jenkins of The Colony Texas, Clifford Gahagan of San Jose, California, Stephen Gahagans of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Anthony Springer of Tyler, Texas.  He is preceded in death by one son from Arizona.

Bennie leaves to cherish his home going:  His sons, James, Clifford, Stephen, and Anthony; his sister, Esther Lee Ogans of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his very special friend, Betty Hopkins of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his niece, Jestine Allyce Gahagan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and other cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Mary "Mae" Simon and Bennie D. Gahagans, Sr.; his step-mother, Ruth Gahagans; his sisters, Betty Smith and Earlene Thompson, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one son Jamie Brown from Chandler, Arizona; and a great number of other relatives and friends.

"Life's journey leads you down several paths only to end up on the one path to heaven for those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior"
