IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bernard
Edwards
January 8, 1959 – January 9, 2021
Bernard Edwards born January 8, 1959 transitioned peacefully to rest on January 9, 2021 surrounded by his family.
His parents Earnest and Jeanette Edwards immersed him at an early age in the Christian community as a member of Little Rose Baptist Church. He graduated from Muskogee High School class of 1977. From an early age, he worked alongside of his father Earnest Edwards at Edwards Barbershop and spent several years employed at Herringshaw Waste Management before he dedicated the rest of his years to his first love, repairing and restoring cars.
He joined in union with Jo Ann Brewer for 26 years, and long after this long union dissolved, he reunited with his high school sweetheart Delphyne Jones until the end of his time on earth. He had a great sense of humor that sparked laughter with all those that came in contact with him, and servant heart. Whether he was called husband, son, or brother, everyone called him friend.
Bernard was preceded in death by his father Earnest L. Edwards Sr. and is survived by his mother, Jeanette Edwards, his previous wife Jo Ann Brewer, two daughters Chevaughn McClain, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kendra Olmstead (Keith) and son Lonnie Jackson, Sr. of Muskogee, Oklahoma.
One trait of Bernard's that was evident was his extraordinary love for his grandchildren, Taylor Madison, Tristan Capers, Lonnie Jackson, Jr., and Embrie Bonner. He is also survived by his brother Earnest L. Edwards Jr., sisters Constance Lee, Vancouver, Washington, LaDoris Harlin, Muskogee, Oklahoma and Anita Paxton (Melvin) of Prosper, Texas as well as a very special friend Delphyne Jones. "Bernie Mac" will be sadly missed by close friends Demetrius Walker, John Porter and a host of other family members and friends.
