Obituary

On the blessed day of July 20, 1934, Betty Jean was born to Robert Anderson and Gladys (Shepard) Watson. Betty attended Tulsa Public Schools, where she graduated from  Booker T. Washington High School in 1952, where she remained an active class member.

She married Arther Lee Bingham, of the United States Air Force in 1954. Betty was the mother of two, Tisia Ranae (Anderson) Ogisi and LaFrance Dartanya Bingham.  She cherished many friendships over the years and took pride in her grandchildren whom she spoiled and loved beyond measure. Betty was blessed to see five generations of life on this side of heaven.

In the late 90's, Betty went back to school and completed her associate degree in business management, inspiring her grandchildren to "see it through in life."  For 28 years, Betty served as the payroll clerk for the Tulsa Fire Department, known to all firemen and beloved by her dear friend Chief Taylor.

Betty's favorite past times in life, when not spoiling her grands, were playing Bingo which graduated to slot machines at local casinos over the years. She also loved traveling with family and friends to enjoy new sceneries, like the beaches of Jamaica!  In 2013, Betty made Paradise her church home, where she was reassured of her salvation in Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Betty Jean Bingham, a Tulsa resident, in her 89th year of life went to be with the Lord on  Saturday evening, April 27, 2024, with her loving family by her side.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Arther Lee and son LaFrance Dartanya, parents, Robert Anderson and Gladys Watson, sister Mary Etta Richardson, and her grandson Oritsejolomi (Ashley) Ogisi.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Ranae (Jolomi) Ogisi, a sister Rosetta (Bobby) Wilson, grandchildren, Felicia Thompson, Omare (Shontonio) Jimmerson, Ta'Misen Balfour, Charis "KayKay" Tobler, Oritsejolomi "TseTse" Ogisi, Zaiden "Zaza" Williams, Shontonio "Shon Shon" Jimmerson, her long time animal companion Honey Bunny and a host of nieces and nephews.

The Sacred Farewell for Betty will commence on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Eleventh Hour in the most holy sanctuary of Paradise Baptist Church, where her Pastor Sam Holmes will preside.
