Ms. Betty J. Campbell, in her 79th year, "dozed from life to everlasting" on Wednesday evening, June 5, 2019 from Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Betty Jean was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on April 25, 1940 to Alberta White. She attended elementary, junior high and ultimately Historic Manual Training High School in Muskogee.
Later, Betty married the love of her life, Raymond Perkins, Sr., on June 15, 1956. From this union, Raymond Jr., Chester, Arnold, Alfred, Michael, Janice, Wilma and Wayne. They remained married for 25 years until the untimely death of her soul mate. Later in life, Betty married Antonio Campbell and from this union, Toni Campbell was born.
Sister Betty worked various jobs, but loved being a caregiver for the mature and sick. Her kind and nurturing soul was always comforting to many whom journeyed in and out of her life.
After 79 years of life, Betty J. Perkins Campbell "dozed from life to everlasting" on Wednesday evening, June 5, 2019 from Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alberta White; her husband, Raymond Perkins, Sr.; her sons, Chester and Arnold Perkins; and her sisters, Willie Mae Simmons and Annette Wright.
She leaves in God's care; her sons, Raymond Perkins Jr., [Claudia], Warner, Oklahoma, Alfred Perkins, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michael Perkins, Oktaha, Oklahoma, Wayne Perkins, Arkansas; her daughters, Janice McVay [James], Edmond, Oklahoma, Wilma Gibson, Houston, Texas and Toni Campbell, Muskogee, Oklahoma; her grandchildren; and a caravan of wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
The Celebration of Life honoring her memory will commence on Saturday morning, June 15, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Oktaha Community Church. Reverend Henry McVay will officiate and Reverend Sanford Nero will give the Eulogy.
Burial will follow in the Horn Cemetery at Webbers Falls.
You may visit Sister Betty, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home in Muskogee on Friday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
