On August 15, 1935, a fiesty girl was born to Wayne Jackson and Ella Lavern Vann in Braggs, Oklahoma. She was the third of eleven children. She finished school at Maual High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Betty accepted Christ at an early age as her personal saviour at Old Agency Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Later in life she moved to Tulsa, OK and became a member at New Jerusalem Baptist Church as a faithful member until her health failed. Betty was employed at the Lousiana Restaurant for 20 years then she later retired after 25 years at White River Fish Market, she was known for her buttermilk and sweet potatoe pie.
Preceding Ms. Jackson in death are her parents Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Jackson, four sisters Mrs. Georgia LaDale Andrews, Mrs. Lena Anderson, Mrs. Roszella Jackson, and Ms. Annetta Jackson, four brothers Wayne Travis Jackson, Willie Jackson, Anderson Jackson, and Wayne Jackson Jr.
Those left to cherish precious memories are two daughters Ms. LaJuana Hill and Mrs. Erma Wallace (Timonthy), one son Richard Hill, children she raised as her own, Mrs. Ella Lenitta Stephens and Ms. Lucretia Jackson, Ms. LaTina Hill, three sister Ms. Ruthie Johnson of Kansas City, MO. Mrs. Havanna Lasley of Muskogee, OK., and sister/neice Mrs. Waynetta Lawria (Bill) of Tulsa, OK., two brothers Hussam Muhammad of Kansas City, MO., and Clyde Jackson of Tulsa, OK., two sister-in-laws Mrs. Audrey Jackson of Tulsa and Mrs. Rose Jackson of Kansas City, MO. Nineteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of neices, nephews, relatives, cousins and friends.

Services for Miss Betty Joan Jackson will be Thursday February 8, 2018 at 11AM at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Tulsa.
Friends may visit Miss Jackson on Wednesday from 1PM until 7PM in the Tulsa Chapel.
