REFLECTION OF LIFE

Betty Lou Jamison was born September 1, 1932 in Tulsa Oklahoma to the proud Parents of Sandford and Eddie Jamison.

Betty always had a Flair for Style and pursued her life long passion for a career in Cosmetology and Community Service. She became one of the first African American owner and operator of Troup's Beauty College located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This school was the first integrated facility. The first graduation class consisted of 18 students.

During her 53 years in cosmetology, she owned and operated the Nu Look Beauty Salon until her health declined.

Betty was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, The Mighty Class of 1951 and served as Class Secretary.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Greater Union Baptist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a faithful member for over 80 years, serving the Lord with all soul and passion until God called her home,  a job "Well Done".

She is preceded by her parents, Sandford and Eddie Jamison, her sisters Charlesetta Thompson, Emma Thomoson, Reba Jamison, her brothers James D. Perkins, Eugene Thompson and her only child Randolph Edwards Jr.

Betty Lou will always be loved and missed by her granddaughter Deneeco Edwards-Young, grandson Randolph Edwards III, great grandson William C. Young II and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.

Services for Betty Lou Jamison will be Friday December 29, 2023 at 2PM at Greater Union Baptist Church in Tulsa.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2PM until 6PM in The Tulsa Chapel.
