Obituary

Billie Ruth Sykes was born in Prentiss, Mississippi, on October 22, 1948, to Willie and Carman Lockhart. She was the third of six children. At the age of seven her and her family relocated to San Francisco, California, where she attended Daniel Webster Elementary, Edward Jr. High, and Galileo High School.

Billie met the love of her life, Nathan (Mike) Sykes, in Oakland, California, on October 31, 1977. Mike and Billie raised a total of five children and united on July 10, 2004. Billie dedicated 25 years working in the field of In-Home Health Care Service, in which she was loved and grew strong relationships with all her clients. Billie and Mike retired in 2011 and then relocated to Boley, Oklahoma.

They enjoyed retirement by joining the church family at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and raising their chickens, dogs, horses, and a few parakeet birds. Billie loved shopping at thrift stores, yard sales, and Ross. She also liked cow and leopard print and we all knew the love she had for her various of leather outfits. We also can't forget about the love she had for sports; her favorite teams were the San Francisco 49ers, Warriors, and The Lakers.
