Birnis McKnight, Jr. was born into this world on February 10, 1951, the oldest son of three children to Birnis McKnight Sr and Sennie Frierson McKnight (both preceded in death) in Clarendon County South Carolina.

He enrolled through the Norwalk, Connecticut education system, graduating from Norwalk High School and joined the US Air Force after high school. As a youth Birnis and family attended Salem Baptist church in Sumter, SC where he was introduced to God and joined Miracle Faith Outreach in Stamford, Connecticut where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior before he received a call from God and moved to Broken Arrow, OK to attend Rhema Bible Training Center and Church where he was faithful usher. He later joined Victory Christian Center of Tulsa Oklahoma where he was a leader for Victory Virtue for Men and a bus captain for family outreach.  He was faithful member of Victory until his departing  on August 22, 2022.

Birnis worked for many years with the US Postal service in Connecticut and Oklahoma before disability forced his retirement.

Birnis had a lively personality and greeted everyone he met with a big smile. His strong faith in his savior, Lord Jesus Christ guided him in everything he tried to do. There was no stranger he wasn't willing to help. He believed in giving and until his death he would give to many aid-organizations, charities, and anyone in need. He was also an ardent reader, well-read scholar on political affairs and able to discuss a broad range of topics. Whether it was Bible history, sports, world events or current news. Birnis had the ability to converse and debate on any topic especially the ones that were important to him.

Birnis leaves a legacy of faith, life is better for so many because of Birnis McKnight, Jr and may God continue the spirit of faith in his family that he bestowed in his 71 years on earth.

Birnis leaves to cherish his memory, wife, and companion of 45 years Mrs. Magdalene Rogers McKnight of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and children - Reaette M Polite, of Orlando, FL, Kenneth C McKnight of Anchorage, AK, Clarence Williams III of Catoosa, OK, Eric L Nelson (wife Christina) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Loretta J Harrison of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sennie A McKnight of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jaimie L Lowe (Husband David) of Mansfield, Texas.
