It all began in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, when Booker T. and Roberta [Stokes] Whittaker, III were blessed with a baby boy on August 8, 1941.  They named him Booker Taliaffero Whittaker, IV.

A lifelong resident of Okmulgee, Booker attended Okmulgee Public schools, culminating with graduation from the Historic Dunbar High School, home of the Mighty Tigers.

After high school, He served his country in the Unites States Navy before his honorable discharge in 1964.

Returning to Okmulgee, Mr. Whittaker attended Macedonia Baptist Church, where his family have been longtime members.  Later in life, Booker married Andrew Etta Brown on October 18, 2022, and remained married until his death.

Booker Taliaffero Whittaker IV, in his 81st year, "dozed into eternal slumber" on Friday morning, December 30, 2022, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Booker Whittaker III and Roberta Whittaker; one son, Booker Whittaker V and one sister, Vivian Walker.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Ann Brown; his two sons, Andre (Kia) McGee of Okmulgee and Lewis Brown; two daughters, Natasha Brown, and Valerie (Larry Sr.) Adams; two grandsons, Dreyson and Addalyn Mcgee of Okmulgee, Krishawn and Brandon Brown of Spring, Tx; three great- granddaughters and one great grandson; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Whittaker in California; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Service of Remembrance for Mr. Whittaker will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the most holy sanctuary of the Macedonia Baptist Church of Okmulgee.  The Pastor, Reverend Judson Fields will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery at 12:30 PM.

You may visit Mr. Whittaker, as he slumbers in peaceful repose in the Chapel of Peace on Sunday, between the hours of 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
