IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brenda Carol
Powdrill
May 1, 1951 – December 21, 2022
" We reflect.....on a notable life "
We love you and we'll miss you. We did the best that we could do, but God loved you best. Kelli, Timothy, Ladonna and your grandchildren
It all began on the 1st day of May, 1951 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, when Jesse and Erma Jean [ Waller] Cowans celebrated the birth of a baby girl, who they named Brenda Carol.
Brenda was raised in Okmulgee, where she attended Okmulgee Public School, culminating with graduation from Historic Dunbar High School with the Class of 1969. While at an impressionable age, she accepted Christ into her her life. Brenda was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where she served the Lord with the Women's Mission and also sang with the Choir.
With her outgoing spirit and personality, to have known Brenda, you knew she had a passion for cooking and she was on of the best. She had a heart of gold [sometimes] and at other times........"Oooh Wee!" She was united in marriage to Rayford Powdrill in 1987 and they remained married until his death in 2004.
Her time on earth came to a close on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and other ancestors.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory; her three children, Kelli Littlejohn-Kelley, Timothy Sims and Ladonna Sims; 7 grandchildren, Reginald, Monique, Devin, Marnesha, Timothy Jr., Angelise, and Martin II; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jessie Mae Cowans [Freddie] and Joann James [Edward]; a special cousin/brother, George Grayson; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The final hour with Brenda will be on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at High Noon in the most holy sanctuary of the Macedonia Baptist Church of Okmulgee. Her Pastor, Reverend Judson Fields, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery.
You may visit "Ms. P." as she slumbers in sweet repose at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee on Friday, December 30, 2022 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
