Obituary

On February 7, 1998, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, a baby girl was born from the union of Kimberly and Dietrick Lynn Haley.  They named their daughter Brionna Renee Haley.

Also known as "BreBre", Brionna was a miracle baby.  She was born at 28 weeks.  She spent three months in the hospital before her family was able to take her home.  They couldn't wait to raise her up in the fear and reverence of the Lord.  Brionna was a joy!  She was a worshipper and her favorite song was "How Great is our God."  Every time you put that song on, she would sing it in her own "BreBre" way.  She could make noise and get so loud in excitement.  Brionna's therapists would just be amazed.

Brionna knew something many of us still don't know.  No matter what your circumstances are, God is great.  Brionna was wheelchair bound.  She depended totally on the care of family.  But she always had a smile on her face.  She loved children and she loved gospel music, cartoons [Sponge Bob and Paw Patrol], and playing games with her family.  She loved to snatch her hand away from yours and smile.  She also loved to go to Church and was very faithful.

One day, Brionna and her mother were in prayer and Brionna began to praise God louder than her mom.  Her mom knew the presence of God was on her.  She raised up her arm with no assistance and her mom couldn't understand what she was saying, but she knew by the change of the atmosphere, God was there. Her mom called her big brother, who was home to witness this awesome move of God.  At that moment, her mom told the Lord "She knew Brionna loves God with all her heart and she is accepting you as her Lord and Savior!"

Brionna had a beautiful personality.  Some people may have thought she was quiet because she was non-verbal, but to know Brionna was to love her.  Many people loved her and she loved them.  She spent the first part of her life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  She began school at the age of 3.  Many people were a blessing in her life from teachers, therapists, doctors and many family and friends who believed she will be healed and wanted the best for her.

Brionna moved to Okmulgee in 2009 to be close to her grandparents.  She received the same love from Okmulgee Public Schools from teachers, therapists and bus drivers.  She loved to go to school.  Brionna was enrolled in Okmulgee High School and was in the 12th grade, where she only needed 5 more credit hours to received her High School Diploma.  What a strong presence Brionna had.

Brionna was called from labor to reward on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.  She leaves in God's care to cherish and honor her memory;  her parents, Dietrick and Kimberly Haley;  her brother, Bryant Whittaker;  her granmother, Linda Haley;  8 aunts;  10 uncles; and a caravan of cousins, Saints and friends.

Her Sacred Farewell will commence on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the most Holy sanctuary of the Greater Praise and Worship Ministries, 1316 East 4th Street in Okmulgee.   Pastor Rudelle I. Brown will give the Eulogy and Co-Pastor Terri Brown will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Okmulgee.

You may visit Brionna on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the funeral home in Okmulgee.
