Brittany A. Slaughter, lovingly known as "Brit Brat," was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 37 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that she is now resting peacefully in God's loving arms.

Brittany was born to Sherri Slaughter, who preceded her in death, and Jeffrey Perkins, who survives her. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving grandmother, Shirley Slaughter, and her late grandmother, Charlene Stutts.

A faithful servant of God, Brittany loved the Lord with all her heart and was a dedicated member who served on the usher board at Holsey Chapel CME. She found joy in serving others and lived a life that reflected kindness, compassion, and grace.

Brittany worked as a bus driver with Tulsa Public Schools and as a Customer Specialist with Tulsa Transit, where she touched countless lives through her warmth and care. She had a nurturing spirit and a calling to help others, even fostering children and creating a safe, loving space for those in need.

She was known for her joyful spirit, her calm and loving nature, and her ability to light up any room. Brittany was truly the life of the party—a jokester who brought laughter wherever she went—yet she was also a steady and comforting presence, serving as a safe place for her family and friends to turn to in times of need.

Brittany had a passion for life and cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She enjoyed traveling, cooking new meals, decorating, and creating TikTok videos that reflected her vibrant personality. One of the many treasured memories she leaves behind is her spontaneous calls to her niece April, turning ordinary days into unforgettable adventures filled with laughter and love.

She was especially proud of earning her Nursing Assistant certification with the help and support of her sister, Sherria. Brittany was also pursuing her dream of homeownership, a testament to her determination and faith, even as her journey was unexpectedly shortened.

Brittany loved basketball, loved her family and friends deeply, and above all, she loved seeing others happy. Her life was a reflection of God's love in action—selfless, giving, and full of light.

While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." Brittany's legacy of love, faith, and joy will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Brittany is survived by her sisters, Koriyanda and family, Sherria, and Sherylea; her brother, Najee and family; her nieces, April, Bre’shay (and great-niece Ellie), and India (and great-niece Cerae); and her nephews, Chayne and Mar’zavion. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Jaylynn.

She leaves behind her beloved aunts: Sabrina, Denise, Lanetta, and Koyama; and her uncles: Jawaun, Dolphus (Debra), and Dolphin (Bridgette). Brittany was preceded in death by her uncles: Terry, LaShawn, David, and Kenneth. Brittany also leaves behind a host of cherished cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.
