Mr. Bryant Keith Allen, in his 40th year, closed his eyes in Muskogee and woke up in Paradise.
Bryant was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 28, 1964, the son of Walter Lee Allen, Sr., and Jeraldine Fennell.
At a young age, his family moved to Muskogee, where he developed life-long relationships. He attended Muskogee Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1982. He furthered his education at Oklahoma State Technical School in Okmulgee.
Mr. Allen had a sincere appreciation for God at an early age. He was reared in the Methodist Church, first at Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church and later at Beebe Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. After settling in Tulsa, he was led to the North Peoria Church of Christ.
In 1982, he met Paula Brown and this relationship blessed him with three precious children; Kanesha, James Bryant and Amber. His joy increased with the birth of each of his children and his grandchildren.
Mr. Allen provided for his family by working as a Hospital respiratory technician in Kansas City, Missouri and after returning to Muskogee at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. He was later employed at Fort Howard Paper Company.
In 1997, his relationship was dissolved and Bryant moved to Tulsa. He labored as a technician for Sonoco Company.
Bryant was a loving person that lived life to the fullest, caring for his children, encouraging and participating in their academic and athletic activities.
He leaves an indelible mark on every heart he has touched. Bryant was preceded in death by his father, Walter Allen, Sr.
He leaves to lament his passing; his daughters, Kenesha Brown and Amber Allen; a son, James Bryant Allen; his loving companion, Toni Kirkendall; his mother, Jeraldine Hudson; his sisters, Wanda and Ronnie Norwood, and Terrie Allen; his brothers, Walter and Adrienne Allen, Derrick Allen, Gregory and Donna Allen; three grandchildren; and a caravan of other relatives and friends.
The final tribute to Mr. Allen will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the Auditorium of Benjamin Franklin Science Academy, 300 Virgil Matthews Drive in Muskogee. Brother Warren Blakney, Pastor of North Peoria Church of Christ in Tulsa will officiate. Burial will follow in Doyle Cemetery at Yahola, Oklahoma, just west of Taft.
