Rev. Butler, Anderson, Jr. formerly of Castle, Oklahoma, in his 88th Season transitioned to Rest on Thursday October 8, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Butler Anderson, Jr., was the third of four children born to Butler and Ethel Anderson, Sr., on September 30, 1932. As a child, Butler accepted
the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Butler was affectionately called "Junior" by many of his relatives. He graduated from Boley High School in 1949, where he excelled in both basketball and baseball.

Upon graduation, Butler enlisted in the United States Airforce, serving four years. During his service, he was stationed at several locations, one being Japan, which turned out to be his favorite.

After his military service, he relocated to Wichita, KS, where he met and married Lenora Johnson. To this union, five children were born. Butler enrolled in Wichita College, where he completed a degree in Drafting. He was employed by Boeing Aircraft company for several years. While in Wichita, Butler also played semi-professional baseball for the Aero's. He was also a Boy Scouts Leader.

Butler later relocated back to Oklahoma, where he met and married Myrtle Sigure, and to that union, three more children was added to his family. He was employed at Born Inc., in Tulsa for several years. Afterward, he worked as a self-employed drafting contractor. He designed blueprints for various structures. Butler used his draftsman talents to bless others. He loved fishing, hunting, and farming with his sons. He loved punchline jokes.

He attended church routinely throughout his lifetime. He was a member of Evangelistic Temple in Preston and Bibleway COGIC in Tulsa. Butler Anderson, Jr., accepted his calling to minister the word of God. He became an ordained minister under the African Methodist Episcopal Church, becoming an appointed Pastor in Nowata and McAlester along with being a member at Vernon A.M.E. Church in Tulsa. He loved preaching about God's love and how to let God's love shine through your hearts with compassion for others.

On October 8, 2020, Butler Anderson, Jr., was welcomed home by family members who have gone on before him: his father, Butler Anderson, Sr., mother, Ethel Anderson, brother, Prescovia O. Anderson, Sr., sisters, Bobbye Jean Harrison and June Anita Shanks, and son, Richard Greene, who was affectionally known as Dickie. He leaves to cherish his memory: Darren E. Anderson of Wichita, KS, Yolanda J. Anderson of Tulsa, Loren D. (Tanya) Anderson of Kansas City, MO, Lisa M. Anderson of Tulsa, Gregory G. Anderson of Lancaster, TX, Rollie L. Anderson, James B. Anderson, and Charles G. (Erika) Anderson, all of Tulsa, and Jermain L. Anderson of Moore, OK, along with 29 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild, and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Hour of Remembrance for Reverend Butler Anderson, Jr. will be on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the All Faiths Chapel  of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., in Tulsa. Military Honors will take place at this service.

You may  visit Reverend Anderson, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home in Tulsa on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

Burial will be on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 12:00 PM in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
