Mr. Calvin Brown, after 54 years, left this life for a life eternal on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from his home in Muskogee.

A Memorial Ceremony will be shared on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee.

On June 7th, 1966, a handsome baby boy was born to Will. E. McVay Sr. and Clara Mae Brown
in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They named him Calvin Lamar Brown.

He grew up in Muskogee and attended Muskogee Public Schools where he excelled in sports and
academics. Calvin graduated from Muskogee High School in 1984 and later attended Langston
University where he graduated in 1988 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Among other things,
Calvin was an avid lover of sports.

His career in public service began with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and after
retiring from there, Calvin went on to work as a Veteran's Claim Examiner at the Department of
Veteran Affairs until his retirement.

Calvin professed and acknowledged Christ in his life at an early age and his faith followed him
throughout his life. He exemplified the Golden Rule throughout his life by treating others the
way he wanted to be treated.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, Will. E. McVay Sr. and Clara Mae Brown, his
brothers, Dennis and Donald, and his sisters, Marilyn and Kathleen.

Calvin is survived by his children, son Jordan, daughter Dominique, and granddaughter Amaya.
Sisters, Melba Wynn, and Melvalene Leach. Brothers, Willie McVay, Reginald Brunner,
nephew/brother Jackie Luckey and special brothers Dorian Dyer and Walter Luse. Special
friends Camille Allen, Adelle Penn, Josette Pierce and Claressa Dyer. His favorite uncle
Ferdinand J. Cain and godparents George and Stella Derrick and a host of cherished nieces,
nephews, and other relatives.
