Obituary

On June 18, 1961, a beautiful baby girl was born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Eddie C. Pride and Doris M. Pride. They named her Candace Lafawn Pride.

She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Omaha, Nebraska. She later relocated to Muskogee, Oklahoma, and attended High School in Okay, Oklahoma, where she graduated in 1980. Candace would continue her education at Bacone College until she transferred to Connors State College, where she obtained her associate's degree.

Candace was a joy to be around; always smiling and cracking jokes. She loved working in the medical field as a certified medication aide in her earlier years. Her love for her career was unmatched. She was a people person, which led her to her final job at Walmart as a cashier for ten years. Candace loved spending time with all of her loved ones, especially her close friends, Nicole, Donna, and Michelle, any chance she could get.

On January 9, 2024, Heaven couldn't wait for her; she gained her wings and departed her earthly home and joined her parents, Eddie and Doris Pride, in her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Doris Pride; brothers, Eddie L. Pride, Eddie C. Pride, Jr., and Eddie C. Pride, Jr.; as well as a host of grandparents, maternal uncles, and aunts.

Candace leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter, Nekia Pride of Muskogee, OK; son, Aubrey Pride of Broken Arrow, OK; loving daughter-in-law, Kaneisha Colbert-Pride; sister, Michelle Wilson of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Jaciea Colbert, Taylor Colbert, Kentrell Adams, Kenan Adams, Braylin Reed, Chace Davenport, and Aubreyon'te Pride; great-grandchildren, KeAun Reed; and a host of aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Service to commemorate the life of Candace will commence on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Eleventh Hour in the most holy sanctuary of 18th & Denison Church of Christ in Muskogee.
