Mr. Carl Chester Armstead, age 72 and a longtime resident of Hoffman, OK, passed from this life on Thursday evening, March 6, 2008 from Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Muskogee, OK. Mr. Armstead was born November 29, 1935 in Muskogee, OK, the son of Jessie James and Gladys [Perkins] Armstead. He attended Lone Tree School in Haskell, OK and served in the U. S. Army. He was united in marriage to Bernadette Marie Taylor, who preceded him in death. He was a devoted husband and father. Carl worked as a truck driver for Safeway and treasured his horses and riding in rodeos.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister, and 3 nephews.

Remaining to cherish his memory; his son, Darin Armstead, Denver, CO; his daughter, Cynthia Armstead, Henryetta, OK; 2 sisters, Maxine Alexander, Muskogee, OK and Ardie Crowley, Aurora, CO; his brother, Jackie Armstead, Denver, CO; his grandchildren, LeTreash, Maurice and Kiesha; along with other relatives and friends.

Service of Memory for Mr. Armstead will be on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Peace at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee. You may visit Mr. Armstead, as he slumbers at the funeral home on Sunday from 12 noon to 3 PM.
