Obituary

Carl E. Jones, Sr., and Mary M. Jones gave birth to Carl E. Jones, Jr., on August 2, 1949 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was the oldest of six children.

Carl, or better known as "Snookie" by his family, graduated from Manual Training High School and served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Carl gave his life to the Lord at an early age at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Van Buren, Arkansas. He later became a member at Old Agency Baptist Church in Muskogee. At the time of his death, he served the Lord at Christ Holy Mission, using great leadership skills, leading praise and worship as well as playing the bass guitar. He sang with various gospel groups.

Carl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and brother-in-law. He was a gifted, creative laborer. He owned and operated his own business and possessed many creative talents. He enjoyed his fellow man and never met a stranger.

Carl "heard a voice from Heaven" on Sunday morning, February 25, 2007 and now rests with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary M. Jones.

He leaves in God's care; his devoted wife, Carlois; two sons, Ronald [Cari] Alexander and Tajuan [Kari] Alexander, all of Muskogee; three daughters, Renita Davis, Richmond, California, Tina Jones and Robyn Jones, both of Muskogee; three brothers, Clarence [Linda] Jones, Nebraska, David Jones, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ronald [Rhonda] Jones, Muskogee; two sisters, Anita Carter, Edmond, Oklahoma and Connie Hardaway, Tulsa, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The service of remembrance will be on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in Christ Holy Mission, Pastor Carrie Jackson, Officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the National Cemetery at Fort Gibson.

You may visit "Snookie" as he slumbers at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 PM to 6 PM.
