Carl Everett Trout, Sr., was born on June 26, 1954 from the union of Everett and Elizabeth [Hickman] Trout in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He joined Eastside First Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member there all of his life. Carl received his education at Booker T. Washington School and graduated with the Class of 1972 from Haskell High School. While at Haskell High School, he was active in sports. Mr. Trout served his Country honorably in the United States Army from 1974 to 1977. He later became a lifetime member of the DAV Auxillary.
After graduating high school, Carl attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. Once he completed academic courses there, he transferred to Oklahoma State University Technical School in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where he earned a certificate in Auto Body and Painting. While at NSU, he became a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
On July 2, 1974, Carl married Linda Jean Mackey and from this union, two daughters and one son were born. He then began his employment working for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas and then at the Veteran's Administration Regional Office in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Driving was the love of Carl's life. He graduated from Drumwright Truck Driving School in 1993. He was an over the road truck driver for several years, working for Blue Bell Creameries and also Green Acres Sod Farm. He then became owner/operator of his own Trucking Business, retiring after twenty years.
Carl Everett Trout, Sr., after 59 years with us on Earth, found "Rest beyond the River" on Monday, May 12, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Edwin, William and Leaster Trout.
Carl leaves to cherish his precious memory; his wife, Linda Jean Trout and Ben Barnes, of the home in Haskell; two daughters, Venus Trout-McClellan and Brandy Trout McCLellan [Ramon], all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a son, Carl Everett Trout, II [Joni], Haskell, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, Jade, Ramon Jr., Ivy, Dasia, Monique, Demetri, Keaton, Donovan, Jaycee, Gracie, Lilly and Rayvon; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Lincoln; a brother, Robert [Nova], Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; six sisters, Mrs. Opal Tatum, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Alma Maxie [Robert], Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mrs. Avis Huff, Plantation, Florida, Mattye Harrison [Joe], Haskell, Dr. Betty Trout-Kelly [Reuben], Mobile, Alabama and Linda Gantt [Winston], Tulsa, Oklahoma; an Uncle, Reverend Fentress Hickman [Shirley], Oxon Hill, Maryland; two Aunts, Erma Langley, Philadelphis, Pennsylvania and Margaret Harrison, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his Mothers-in-law, Irene Grant, Kansas City, Missouri and Grace Mackey, Coweta, Oklahoma; six Sisters-in-law; six Brothers-in-law; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Trout will be on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church, Pastor Gary McKeen, the gracious host Pastor, Rev. Larry Pouncil, Pastor of Eastside First Baptist, Presiding and Pastor George Reese, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the Haskell Cemetery.
Friends may visit Mr. Trout on Friday from 12 Noon until 6 PM at the funeral home in Muskogee.
