Obituary

Carol Jean Steele was born to Donnetta Steele Battle, and Cornell Cornelious Mitchell in Oklahoma City, OK on July 11, 1961.  She attended Oklahoma City Public Schools. She graduated from Northwest Classen High in 1979.

Carol love ones that preceded her in death were her mother, father, both paternal and maternal grandparents, one brother Rueben Mitchell, two children, and her loving husband Eddie Lee Farries Jr.

Carol met and married Eddie Lee to this union nine children were born. Eddie loved her oldest daughter Donnetta as his own.  Early on in the marriage they move to Boley, OK to raise their family in Boley.

Carol has also attended OSU Tech in Okmulgee, OK for business administration. She started working for the Town of Boley as a librarian then was elected to town and court clerk. She had serve the Town of Boley for over 20 years of faithful and dedicated service.

Carol always loved her family and friends, always open up her heart and home to anyone in need. Carol has a love for music. She could sing like a song bird, even though she tried to be shy. Her hobbies were listening to music and reading. Some of her favorite artists were George Michael, Pastor Shirley Caesar, and Marvin Sapp. Some of her favorite authors were Steven King, James Patterson. Carol was an excellent cook and was known for her Garlic Fried Chicken.

Carol accepted Christ at an early age. She was always faithful in her Christian walk. We know she is happily at home in God's arms.

Carol leaves to mourn her 8 children: sons, James, Samuel, and Stefon all of Boley, OK; daughters, Donnetta (Reginald) of Bellville, MI, Kayla (Kevin) of Oklahoma City, OK, DeAngela (James) and Micelea (Ronald) of Boley, OK, Chantel of Stockton, CA. 2nd Mother Bille Faye Mitchell, 2nd Paternal grandmother Margaret Mitchell both of Detroit, MI. Five sisters: Sheryl Ross of Tulsa, OK, LaDora (Tony) of Spencer, OK, Marchetta Ruffin, Gerdina Brown, and Katrina (Oscar) Bush of Detroit, MI. Three brothers: Rodney Mitchell and Lanzel Mitchell of Spencer, OK, Cornell C. Mitchell Jr of Detroit, MI. Four sisters-in-laws; Rosie Anderson of Midwest City, OK, Velma Osborne , Isie Farries both of Oklahoma City, OK, Paulette Farries of Atlanta, GA. Two brother-in-law's Elisha and Samuel Farries of Boley, OK. Two Aunts Sue Scott and Bessie Carroll of Oklahoma City, OK. Seven Uncles: Opaul Mitchell, Larry Steele, Roy Steele, Lavell Steele, Leo Jack Steele, Luster Steele all of Oklahoma City, OK, randy Steele of Dallas, TX.

A very special mama/cousin Bernita Hall and a lifelong friend Robin Fowkles. 15 grandchildren and hot of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Carol Farries will be Friday September 29, 2017 at 11AM at Amos Temple in Boley.

Friends may visit Mrs. Farries on Thursday September 28, 2017 from 1PM until 6PM in The Boley Chapel.
