Obituary

Carol Ann was born on May 30, 1956 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She was the first born of three girls to Walter Kizzie and Jacqueline Morris (Brown). Growing up, Carol had a strong and loving relationship with her grandmother, Laura Wells, and was fiercely protective of her sisters.

After some years, Carol was living in Long Beach, California where she established friendships with people she met while attending Long Beach Jordan High School in Long Beach. A few years after she graduated she would go on to meet the love of her life, James B. Jones. After a year of courtship, they were married on July 2, 1977 and would build their lives in San Pedro, California until being transferred last year to Houston, Texas. From this union they would have a daughter, Geneva, who would be their only child.

While Carol took great pride in being a wife and mother, she also took pride in the work she did outside the home. Carol also spent many years working for Macy's as a specialist; first in the Baby Department and then in Macy's International Concepts Clothing (INC). She consistently met and/or exceeded her sales goals and was always a prominent fixture throughout the Macy's (Del Amo) family. No matter what department or floor you worked in, everyone "always knew who Carol was," and she never hesitated to help people out.

She was greatly devoted to her family, no matter what the distance was between them all. If someone was sick, needed help or needed company, she was always there. In her daughter's school years, Carol - also affectionately known as "Mama Jones" - would spend her time being the classroom mom, carpooling kids to competitions, even once loaning her car to Geneva's classmate so she could take her driving test. Whenever her husband would go on fishing trips, she would always pack him a lunch and would always make sure his fishing buddies would have something to eat too. She was always so giving of herself without expecting anything in return. She would often say, "When you do good and help people, it will come back to you in some way, shape or form."

While she didn't belong to a specific faith, Carol was always spiritual and had a strong belief in God. This is something we are sure brought her comfort in her last days.

On Tuesday July 10, 2018 Carol went home and was greeted by those who preceded her in death: her mother, Jacqueline Morris (Brown), brothers Walter Kizzie Jr. and Craig Morris, grandmothers Laura May Wells and Florence Brown, and her uncle Charles P. Brown.

Leaving those behind to carry on her legacy are her loving and devoted husband, James B. Jones of Houston,Texas, daughter Geneva Felice (Frank) of Katy, Texas, granddaughters Isabella and Alessandra (due in October), father Walter Kizzie (Jean), sisters Wanda Kizzie of Eufaula and Barbara Kizzie of Wichita, Kansas, mother-in-law Geneva Brown, sister-in-law Brenda Carpenter of Indianapolis, Indiana, nieces Shayla Kizzie of Long Beach, California, Ebony Kizzie of Oklahoma City, Courtney Carpenter of Indianapolis, Indiana, nephews Steven Daniels of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Charles Kizzie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and a host of cousins and friends.
