Obituary

On April 6, 1948, Carole Joyce Hunter was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to L.C. Hunter and Armetta Gwendolyn Toliver.

She was born the third child of 13 children. She was known to have a happy vibrant spirit, outspoken, creative, energetic, compassionate, generous, loved her family, socially conscious, and awarded a college Art Scholarship.

Carole graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1966. She married Cliffton Tarver and birthed her son, Daryl Cliffton Tarver, on August 15, 1965.

At an early age, she was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. George C. McCutcheon, where she was active in all youth activities.

She had a variety of occupations. City of Tulsa Water Dept, Waitress (Denny's and Bang's Corner Bar), Southwest Airlines, UtoteM Convenience Store, and multiple other employers, but her longest employment was P.S.O. Customer Service Supervisor.

Personality: She was a room "SHOW STOPPER"; nobody could claim the full attention of a room or a party like her, friendly to all, giving to a fault (if she has 2 pennies, you automatically will have 1 penny), provided a roof for multiple siblings, relatives and friends, avid reader, creativity with decorations for events, dinners and holidays, Organizer of one of the best celebrated and most memorable Reunion's of Class of 1966. And the World's Best Mommy.

Grandchildren: Darian D'ona, Aaron Micheal, Daryl Lynae, Cliffton Bert, and Myah Devette.

Great-grandchild: Peyton Noelle

On early Sunday morning at 3:30, my mama / our beloved Carole Joyce Hunter-Tarver transitioned from this earthly plain and entered into her heavenly home. She is now reunited with Armetta, L.C. Hunter, James Lazenby, Sisters: Gwendolyn, Cheryl, and Linda & Brothers: LaRoye and Ronald, who preceded her in death.

She was blessed to have a total of 18 siblings: siblings: Gwendolyn Hunter, LaRoye Hunter, Ronald Hunter, Cheryl Hunter, Linda Hunter, Reginald Lazenby, James Lazenby Jr, Derrick Lazenby, Tim Scott, Deborah Hunter, Phyllis Wilson, Cheryl Brown, Linda Elliott, Sheila Fletcher, Lisa Adam's, Shirley Logan, and Theresa Willis. On early Sunday morning at 3:30 am, my mama, our beloved Carole Joyce Hunter Tarver transitioned from this earthly plain and entered into her heavenly home. She is now reunited with her parents Armetta Hunter, L.C. Hunter, James Lazenby and siblings Gwendolyn, Cheryl, Linda, LaRoye, and Ronald.

Ms. Carole Tarver after 76 Seasons, Transitioned to Eternal Rest in the Morning Hours of March 9, 2025 in Tulsa.

Services will be Saturday March 15, 2025 at 2PM inside Biglow's All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa.
